A marine cadet found hanged after allegedly being bullied at school would still be alive if his family?s concerns had been listened to, it has been claimed.

Brendon Flynn, 13, took his own life after reports of a campaign of abuse, where he had his bike stolen and was threatened by another teen with a knife.

Yesterday his grieving mother Marie confirmed she had lodged a formal complaint against her local council and mental health chiefs and said: ?He didn?t kill himself, they killed him.?

Brendon was a pupil at Huyton Arts and Sports Centre for Learning in Merseyside, where it is claimed he was subjected to a ?campaign of hate? by one particular bully.

Mrs Flynn, 33, said: ?Over the years, I have been verbally abused by this lad, followed, my windows pelted with stones. He robbed my son?s bike, threatened? to kill him and got him beaten up.?

Revealing how the schoolboy was attacked on his birthday, just weeks before he died on April 4, she added: ?He [Brendon] texted me to say he had been punched in the? chest. I told him to go and tell a teacher but he said ?They won?t believe me, they never do?.?

The school insisted it had no record that Brendon was being bullied.

But Merseyside Police confirmed it investigated a complaint that Brendon was confronted and threatened with a knife in July last year.

The force concluded there was ?no evidence? that the fellow pupil involved in the incident had been armed.

Marie, who is a foster carer with husband Brian, 40, added that Brendon had? self-harmed from the age of ten and the family had warned care workers he was? capable of taking his own life.

She claimed: ?I told everyone who would listen my fears, only to have doors shut in our? face.

?Two years ago, I told an educational psychologist I was worried for our son?s state of mind and I warned ?On your head be it if he does anything stupid?.

?They obviously thought she knew our son better than us because no-one ever came to see us.?

The couple have now lodged formal complaints against Knowsley Council, and the? child and adolescent mental health services.

They have accused them of failing to release notes, relating to Brendon, despite a request from the family seven months ago.

She added: ?We as parents would like, if possible, to help prevent other children or? families go through the same tragedy.?

Knowsley Council and the mental health team confirmed investigations have been? launched following the complaints from the Flynn family. Both were unable to comment further while inquiries are taking place.

An inquest will be held at a later date.

Rest in peace beautiful boy xxx

R.I.P.Brendon God bless.

When I was at nobody carried a knife. It?s Blairs immigration policy that allowed all these civilised cultures into Britain that has made Britain into a knife carrying society. There was bullying, but not with the threat of death.

How many more schools are going to be allowed to get away with ignoring bullying? It goes on in so many. My son was bullied by a teacher and when I complained the headteacher told me he?d investigated and he?d found nothing to substantiate my claims! Several kids are suffering from bullying and when Ofsted did an inspection, many parents told them of problems with bullying in the school ? when their report came out it started with ?There is no bullying in this school??! This country has become one enormous hell hole for kids.

How sad. What a lovely lad. RIP. Hope there will be lessons learned here and some small consolation for his family.

No doubt the ?human rights? of the offender were paramount in this enquiry ?
Justice in this country is becoming a joke.
